Property related crimes
Concept of property is quite significant in Modern days . any offence with regard to either type of property is punishable umder the provision of criminal law . offences against property and their punishment are defined in chapter XVII of Indian penal code in section 378 to 460 . Mainly 10 offences are identified under crimes against property under ipc. Theft, extortion ,robbery and dacoity criminal misappropriation of property , criminal breach of trust , receiving stolen property , dispositiom of property , criminal trespass
Section 378 defines the offence of theft as whoever , intent to take dishonestly any movable property out of the possession of any person without that person consent moves that property in order to such talking is said to be commit theft . section 379 defines the punishment for theft it states whoever commits theft shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extent to three years or with fine or both.
Dishonest misappropriation of property section 403 of Indian penal code states whoever dishonestly misappropriate or converts to his own use of any movable property shall punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extent to two years with fine or both.punishment section 406 defines for criminals breach of trust as imprisonment of either description for a term which may extent to three years
